slightly-off's Diaryland Diary

the ox and the frogs

Last night...wowsers.

Whisky, lemon and honey from a flask, sucking on a lime iceblock and stretching my sweaty legs out to the lovely sounds with all these people we know and don't know and it was just GOOD. I was a bit out of it with illness and the constrictions in my throat, but I gargled salt water when I got home to the tune of 'The Moon' and it was nice to be by myself at night in the bathroom, cleaning and readying my body for sleep. Phil Elverum's performance was just mesmerising - it was perfectly beautiful and the whole room was hushed for it and I was warm and somewhere else in my mind.

So now I'm sticky with sunscreen and headed to a volunteers meeting for the multicultural festival. And maybe to see my Dad afterwards.

Tomorrow it's my and Tom's first anniversary. I have trouble sleeping when he's not in the bed, but I don't feel like I used to when he wasn't around. I don't miss him as much. I'm not sure if that's time's wear and tear at us, or something else. I want to see him and just sit doing nothing with him for a spell this afternoon. Just touch him to assure myself he's real and I'm real and all is well in the world. Then I can get back into the swing of things.
